Prof. dr hab. TADEUSZ MARKOWSKI is The Head of Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Studies at the University of Lodz. In years 2002 – 2005 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Management. In year 2001- 2019 he held a function of the Chairman of the Committee for the National Spatial Management by the Executive Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In years 2001 – 2003 he was the President of the Association of the European Schools of Planning (AESOP). In years 2008-2012 he was a Member of the National Council for Historic Monuments Protection by the Minister of Culture. From September 2006 to September 2014 he was the President for the Society of Polish Town Planners. Professor Markowski published about 250 papers on the local and regional development, urban economics and spatial planning. He is an author of numerous expert opinions for the Government of the Republic of Poland prepared for the purposes of regional policy and spatial planning. In years 2003-2015 a Member of the Central Urban Planning and Architectural Commission.
